I.  Changes to Behavioral Health SIG

  • Monthly Calls: Starting in June, the group will move to monthly calls on the third Wednesday of each month, noon-1pm ET.  Mark your calendars for 2013: June 19, July 17, (No Calls in August), Sept 18, Oct 16, Nov 20, Dec 18.
  • New! Online Chat Forum: This group is testing out a new online forum in order for group members to communicate and share resources.  First test page: "Oregon's Health Reform Experiment."  We encourage you all to visit the page, review the referenced New York Time's article and PowerPoint presentation, and post your comments.  You have a few options for posting comments: 1) sign in through your Facebook, Google, or Twitter accounts or 2) pick a name and provide your email address. There is also a "share" button that will allow everyone to share comments and postings via Twitter and Facebook.
 II.  Upcoming Events on Behavioral Health
  • Future PCPCC Call Information: Access this group’s call agendas through our website Event Calendar here.  Agendas will be emailed from Tara Hacker, Director of Programs at PCPCC, and posted to the calendar event the day before the monthly call.
  • Coming in July: This month will be PCPCC’s “Behavioral Health” month; we will focus our communications efforts on this topic throughout the month of July.  Please think of potential speakers, topics, and resources for staff to incorporate into our e-newsletters, webinars, national briefings and other events.  We will solicit your input during our next Behavioral Health SIG call on May 23rd.
  •  NASHP Webinar: The National Academy of State Health Policy is hosting a webinar on May 13th, noon-1:00pm ET titled “States Prepare for the Newly Insured: A Conversation about Mental Health and Substance Abuse Needs.”  Learn more here.
  •  NAWHC Webinar: The National Association of Worksite Health Centers is hosting a webinar on June 6th, 1:00-2:00pm ET titled “Depression in the Workplace: Why it Matters and What You Can Do About It.”  Learn more here.
